YouthLine | Lines For Life
Being a teenager can come with a lot of stress and emotions. Sometimes, those emotions become overwhelming and people turn to harming themselves in an effort to find a release. Often, self-harm is not a suicide attempt, its an attempt to release painful emotions. Self-harm can include cutting, burning, or scratching, among other things. While its understandable to want to cope with emotions, self-harm can be extremely dangerous and its important to know there are other ways to cope. If you feel like harming yourself, reaching out to someone can help.

Your feelings are valid. Our teen volunteers are here to listen and help. The YouthLine is here via text, chat or phone. If you’re most comfortable talking to another teen, from 4 to 10 PM Pacific, other teens are here to answer and help. The YouthLine offers someone to talk to 24/7 to help you through your feelings and what you’re experiencing.

Teen volunteers are here to listen to you.

Here are things we don’t do:
  • we won’t judge
  • we won’t tell you what to do
  • we won’t tell you that your feelings are silly or unreasonable – because they aren’t
YouthLine’s teen volunteers are here to listen to you, to help you know that your feelings matter, and to help you feel better.
